	Courtemanche & Associates (C&A) 2011 Best Practice Partner Willis- Knighton Health System – Shreveport LA "Maximizing the Efficiency of Patient Flow & Creating a Culture of Communication" With the support of administration and management, a new program and process was created through multi-department involvement and data-driven decision making that not only addressed patient flow issues, but improved the process that caused patient wait time to decrease and patient admits to increase. By involving all levels of staff and various departments, Willis-Knighton Health System provided a unified approach that resulted not only in decreased wait time, but also overall patient satisfaction. Willis-Knighton includes four hospitals owned by the health system; a multispecialty physician network with more than 320 providers; the Oaks of Louisiana, a retirement community and nursing facility; Project NeighborHealth clinics addressing health needs of underserved communities as well as Health Plus of Louisiana (HMO) which offers health insurance coverage to companies in northern Louisiana.

	The Joint Commission Best Practice 2010 WKHS Patient Flow Initiative Submitted as a feature performance improvement during a Joint Commission visit. At the completion of the audit, the process was labelled a "Best Practice".
